Chloroplasts Worksheet | PDF Download

Chloroplasts and mitochondria worksheet is an important resource to revise the concepts.

chloroplast and mitochondria worksheet

Chloroplasts are only present in plant cells. They are involved in the process of photosynthesis as they comprise chlorophyll pigment which not only aids in photosynthesis but also provided green color to plants. The chloroplast is a double membrane-bounded organelle. It contains an outer membrane, an inner membrane to control the moment of molecules in and out of the chloroplast.

The inner fluid of the chloroplast called stroma contains thylakoids and chloroplast DNA. Thylakoids contain chlorophyll which is responsible for the green color of leaves. Thylakoids are stacked to formed grana and it is the site for the light reaction of photosynthesis and converts light energy into chemical energy.

On the other hand, mitochondria are present in both plant and animal cells. Mitochondria is a powerhouse of the cell and site for the production of ATP. The mitochondria consist of the outer membrane, inner membrane, cristae, matrix, mitochondrial DNA, and ribosomes.

Here is the worksheet to review these concepts.
